Batta
I led the entire creative lifecycle and design strategy for Batta, a pioneering peer-to-peer marketplace that integrates buying, selling, and a first-of-its-kind "Swap" feature for the African market.

Project Overview
Modernizing eCommerce along with Traditional Barter for a Digital-First Generation
Batta was designed to revolutionize e-commerce in Nigeria by tackling the core issue of trust. I conducted extensive competitor research against platforms like Jiji and Obiwezy to identify gaps in secure peer-to-peer transactions, leading to the development of our unique hybrid model of cash, swaps, and flexible price negotiations.
My creative process involved establishing a "trustworthy yet vibrant" brand identity using blue and pink base tones with bright orange accents. I designed the end-to-end user journeys for both mobile and web, including a specialized "Auction and Bidding" flow that mirrors real-life bargaining to improve user engagement and satisfaction

Final Result
A Secure, Community-Centric Marketplace Ecosystem
I delivered a comprehensive design system and responsive landing pages optimized for high conversion and waitlist growth. The platform now supports a complex multi-party transaction model where payments are held in escrow until both parties are satisfied, significantly reducing the risk of disputes and fraud.
Beyond the UI, I laid the groundwork for a scalable global infrastructure. By integrating features like social media sharing, verified seller badges, and AI-powered decision-making, we created a "social-first" marketplace that is ready to scale across Africa and eventually into global markets.
